Auchan Côte d’Ivoire

Website and back office · delivered on 1 October 2026

Project & technical details

The new Auchan Côte d’Ivoire website, and the tool its teams use to update it themselves: news, catalogues, promotions, stores, job offers, applications. A freelance assignment I handled end to end, from design to development, from July to September 2026, with the final version delivered on 1 October 2026. The launch is gradual: each section opens as soon as the teams have filled it in. I used AI to move faster without cutting corners on quality.

Ruby on Rails 8, PostgreSQL 16, Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus), Tailwind CSS, Action Text / Active Storage, Solid Queue / Cache / Cable. Back office with roles, editorial workflow and media library. Feature flags for a gradual rollout of sections. Docker deployment on Coolify, Plausible analytics. Development assisted by Claude Code.

Google

Phone payments (Android Pay)

Project & technical details

In London, in Google’s gTech team (via Harvey Nash), my job was to check that paying with an Android phone really worked. With a bag of 200 phones, I tested at the tills of Google’s partners (H&M, Burger King, McDonald’s, petrol stations), at Cubic, the company that supplies the London Underground (TfL) gates, and in shops in Warsaw and Poznań, Poland. Every issue was logged, analysed and sorted for Google’s teams. I also built an app so the team could borrow and return those phones by scanning a QR code.

Field testing of the Android Pay API (NFC) on about 200 devices; bug report collection and analysis, tracked in Google Sheets. Internal Android phone-lending app: QR code scanning, Google Sign-In, data stored through the Google Sheets API. Contract via Harvey Nash.
