Context

BBOXX

Field teams needed to sell and install solar kits where connectivity was unreliable. I became the main, then sole Android engineer, maintaining and evolving the production application.

Java · Kotlin · Room · SQLite · RxKotlin · MVP · Clean Architecture · Offline-first

What I owned

  • Modernised Java to Kotlin and SQLite to Room incrementally, alongside architecture improvements.
  • Worked on offline-first behaviour and automatic background synchronisation.
  • Joined users in Kigali to understand field constraints. Observing repeated commission checks led to showing commissions on launch and updating them automatically.
  • Owned ongoing Android development through many production releases.

What this demonstrates

Sustained ownership of a production product, with technical changes guided by field use.
